How have you been ?
So, today I‘ll be sharing some information about Lucknowi Chikankari Clothes, which I stumbled upon !
Among the many treasures available in India, a universally beloved one is chikankari. This type of embroidery originates in Lucknow and is a famous folklore which was brought to India from Persia by Noor Jehan, wife of Mughal emperor Jehangir. Chikan gets its name from the Persian word ‘chikan’, which means ‘running thread through cloth’.
Chikankari began as white-on-white embroidery. It essentially was made using a white thread on a muslin or gossamer cloth clearly an Indian summer favourite.
It has become the fashion statement now and as the summers are in, so is the demand of chikankari. The designs, patterns and motifs have been ultimately modified since the past.
The latest trends portray that the brides who tend to have their marriages in summers hugely demand for a Chikankari Lehenga as it is super comfortable to wear and great for summers.
Besides the comfort, it gives you an extraordinarily gorgeous look.Chikankari isn’t just for women, but for men too. This royal art delivers incredible pieces of men’s kurta- pajama, shirts, sherwanis etc. which are both casual and formal in nature.
It lends you a charismatic individuality and you make a style statement wherever you go!
A LITTLE ABOUT ADA CHIKAN
Yeah, so I got an amazing collection of chikankari this season from www.adachikan.com
Ada conceptualized art of chikankari on a different, albeit traditional platform. Ada, brought together the finest artisans who with their nimble fingers started crafting breathtaking chikankari designs on finest fabrics which became a delightful appreciation for the cognoscente.
To break the monotony of chikankari on a dress, a fusion of ‘Zardozi’, ‘Aari’ and ‘Kaamdani’ with ‘Muqaish’ (flattened silver or golden wire) is done which enhances its beauty.
Ada as a brand, launched its retail outlet in the up market locales of Hazratganj, Lucknow in 2005. Although, the collection of ‘chikankari’ garments started atleast a decade earlier.
I got some lovely collection from their website like a chikankari handmade kurti, a short top and a pair of pallazos.
